Help Us Support LGBTQI+ Refugees from Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia

Goal: €20,000

Dear friends, allies, and supporters,

In the heart of Amsterdam, from July 31st to August 2nd, an essential gathering is taking place: the Conference of Queer Grassroots Organisations and Activists from Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia (EECCA). This conference is not just a meeting—it's a beacon of hope, a lifeline for those who have been marginalized and persecuted for their identities.

Why it Matters: The past years have seen a frightening escalation in the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals across the EECCA region. From the implementation of oppressive laws to the shuttering of vital support organizations, the situation is dire. Many have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety, only to encounter new struggles in their quest for asylum. The journey to safety is fraught with obstacles, from integration difficulties to profound mental health challenges resulting from trauma.

Our Response: RUSA LGBTQ+ and LGBT World Beside, alongside the support of Pride Amsterdam, are stepping up to create a platform for change. This conference isn't just about discussion—it's about action. By bringing together grassroots organizations and activists, we aim to:

  • Share Knowledge and Experience: Learn from each other's successes and challenges.
  • Build a Network: Forge connections for future collaboration and support.
  • Facilitate Strategic Discussions: Develop plans for advocacy and joint projects.
  • Raise Awareness: Shed light on the struggles faced by LGBTQI+ refugees in host countries.

How You Can Help: We need your support to make this conference a reality. Your donation will directly contribute to covering the costs of venue, accommodation, transportation, and other essential expenses. Every euro brings us closer to our goal of €20,000.

Conference Highlights:

  • Day 1 (July 31st): Closed roundtable discussions among LGBTQ+ organizations and activists.
  • Day 2 (August 1st): Open roundtable discussions featuring UN representatives, policymakers, and human rights advocates.
  • Day 3 (August 2nd): Cultural program including open talks by LGBTQ+ activists and a Drag Night featuring Drag Artists in Exile.

About Us: RUSA LGBTQ+ and LGBT World Beside are committed to creating a world where everyone can live authentically and without fear. Together, we work tirelessly to dismantle oppressive systems and uplift marginalized voices.

Join Us: Your donation is more than a contribution—it's a statement of solidarity. Together, we can create a safer, more inclusive world for LGBTQI+ refugees.
